Government endorses procurement of 246 infantry fighting vehicles

The Government of the Czech Republic authorised the procurement of 246 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles for CZK 59.7 billion and on the very same day, the Director General of the MoD Armaments and Acquisition Division Lubor Koudelka signed an agreement with the Swedish party. Under the leadership of Minister Černochová, the MoD contracted for the acquisition of fighting vehicles less than a year after the previous tender was discontinued. We are embarking on the realization phase nine years after the decision to procure these vehicles which are necessary to deliver the key commitments to the Alliance, that is, to build a heavy infantry brigade by 2026. We are procuring vehicles that meet the requirements of the Czech Armed Forces. The contract also ensures that the participation of the Czech defence industry will amount to at least 40% of this contract.
Minister of Defence showed Prince Edward the place of Czechoslovak paratroopers’ last battle

Minister of Defence Jana Černochová and HRH Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, visited the Saint Cyril and Methodius Cathedral and paid their respects to the memory of the brave paratroopers who carried out the attack on Reinhard Heydrich. The brother of HM King Charles III began his visit of the Czech Republic on Tuesday and met among others with President Petr Pavel.
Defence Minister Jana Černochová signed the Defense Cooperation Agreement in the Pentagon

Defence Minister Jana Černochová with her counterpart U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III signed the Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA) in Washington DC today. After long negotiations led by the Defence Ministry and Foreign Affairs Ministry with many other Ministries and Government agencies, the DCA was endorsed by the Government in April and is now awaiting deliberation by both Chambers of the Parliament and then ratification by the President.
Air and ground interference simulated challenges for the Czech Armed Forces

RAMSTEIN, Germany – April 24–28, the Czech Air Forceand Land Forces participated in training drills under Electronic Warfare (EW) conditions. They were testing their ability to jam and respond to jamming. Organized under the auspices of NATO, the Ramstein Guard exercise took place in the airspace of the Czech Republic, exposing more than 200 participants to an EW environment in which they had to operate, protect themselves, ensure mission accomplishment and defend against a simulated adversary.

Minister of Defence Jana Černochová received today her Moldavian counterpart Anatolie Nosatîi. Their discussions focused on the assessment of the security situation in the context of the war in Ukraine and on bilateral defence and defence industrial cooperation.
