General František Moravec finally returned to his homeland

On Tuesday April 26th, 2022, the Čáslav airfield was the venue to a solemn ceremony on the occasion of repatriation of the cremains of Brigadier General František Moravec into the Czech Republic. The distinguished guests included the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Defence Minister Jana Černochová, other senior defence officials and first and foremost, a host of General Moravec’s relatives.

On her second official foreign trip, Defence Minister Jana Černochová met with United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in the Pentagon on Thursday April 21, 2022. The Czech Minister and U.S. Secretary concurred on their shared interest to execute the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) between the Czech Republic and the United States of America. They also discussed continuing support to Ukraine and options the planned closer cooperation offers for the modernisation of the Czech Armed Forces.
Czech service members depart for Slovakia, ready to deter the opponent and defend NATO borders

The service members forming the Czech Armed Forces 1st Contingent NATO enhanced Vigilance Activity (eVA) Battle Group Slovakia departed from Pardubice and Chrudim. The contingent commanding officer Colonel Tomáš Unzeitig and the service personnel forming the command of the Multinational Battle Group eVA took off from the Pardubice based Operations Support Centre. Airborne soldiers who will form the core of the multinational combined infantry battalion started out from the barracks of the 43rd Airborne Regiment in Chrudim with commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Ivo Zelinka.
