Unmanned systems unit based in Prostějov received colours and honorary name from the President

In the company of Defence Minister Lubomír Metnar and the Chief of General Staff General Aleš Opata, the President of the Czech Republic attended the ceremony hosted by the 53rd Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare Regiment in Prostějov. On this occasion, the President conferred the honorary name of Major General Josef Duda on the 533rd Unmanned Systems Battalion.

Seventeen World War II veterans received honorary commemorative badges on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II from the Minister of Defence Lubomír Metnar. Due to the coronavirus crisis, the award ceremony only took place today.
Czech Armed Forces say farewell to Yak-40 aircraft

The Yak-40 aircraft were ceremonially decommissioned at the 24th Transport Air Force Base in Prague – Kbely. Senior defence officials and other distinguished guests witnessed their last flypast.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš visited the Ministry of Defence today to support the Armed Forces and express his gratitude to the military for aiding to fight the coronavirus at the same time. The press conference after the meeting voiced another key message: Modernisation must go on. The contract for the new tracked infantry fighting vehicles should be executed by the end of this year.
