Minister Metnar with EU colleagues discussed stability of Sahel and joint projects in Brussels

Minister Lubomír Metnar first took part in the joint meeting of the European Union Foreign Ministers and Defence Ministers with their counterparts from G5 Sahel countries and then in a dedicated session of EU Defence Ministers in Brussels.

Czech Minister of Defence Lubomír Metnar met with the Minister of Defence of Federal Republic of Germany Ursula von der Leyen in Berlin. He was accompanied by Deputy Minister for Defence Policy and Strategy Jakub Landovský and Director of the MoD Capabilities Planning Division Major General Jaromír Alan.

Minister Metnar visited Armenia to discuss bilateral cooperation and security situation

On April 9-10th, Minister of Defence Lubomír Metnar visited Armenia. He had a call with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Defence Minister David Tonoyan and representatives of the National Assembly in Yerevan. The discussions focused on the development of bilateral cooperation and the security situation in the region. The Defence Ministers also signed an intergovernmental agreement on military technical cooperation.

Last Friday, the Ministry of Defence was the venue to the Central Europe Chiefs of Defence Conference, who came together with Command Senior Enlisted Leaders and National Guard Adjutant Generals. Co-hosted by the Chief of General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces for the first time in the Czech Republic, the conference was contrarily the last one for the other co-host, Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Curtis M. Scaparrotti, as his tenure comes to an end.

After Abu Dhabi, the business trip of Defence Minister Lubomír Metnar led to India to one of the biggest defence exhibitions in the world Aero India, which was officially launched with an airshow. Eleven Czech companies exhibited their products and services at the expo and the Minister sat down to a range of meetings to support the Czech defence industry.
