Czech soliders half way into their Mali Mission

The Czech soldiers of the 5th Task Force continue their participation in the EU Training Mission in Mali (EUTM Mali). Three months of their six-month rotation scheme has already elapsed.

IDET Fair attracts large numbers

The IDET (International Defence and Security Technologies Fair), which took place at the Brno Exhibition Centre from 19th - 21st May, presented defence technology from around 30 countries to military representatives, businessmen, and the public.

Military and political representatives, as well as war veterans and the citizens of the Czech Republic commemorated the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII last week and participated in events around the country paying tribute to those who lost their lives during the war. General Josef Becvar assumes the post of Chief of the General Staff of the ACR

Lieutenant General Josef Becvar was appointed the new Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic by President Milos Zeman at Prague Castle on 4th May.

V4 Defence Ministers meet in Slovakia

At a regular defence ministers' meeting of the Visegrad Group (V4), ministers of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary discussed upcoming joint activities for defence cooperation of the V4 countries. The meeting was held in the city of Tomasov, near Bratislava, on 23rd April.
