Foreign deployments of the Czech military

    More than 350 Czech soldiers will spend the upcoming Holiday Season far away from their home and relatives serving in or in favour of foreign operations in Afghanistan, Mali, in the Sinai, the U.K., in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, but also for example in Kongo.

    Chief of the General Staff of ACR Lieutenant General Petr Pavel received Jana Hierschova from the Office of Defense Cooperation at the American Embassy in Prague to award her for 15 years of management of the U.S. International Military Education and Training Program in favor of the Czech military.

    Ten NATO and PfP nations contributed to the Combined Resolve exercise the goal of which was in advanced training of mutual cooperation, compatibility of forces and sharing combat abilities in conducting defence and attack tactical operations. After the U.S. Army, Czechs had the second largest contingent of force involved in the exercise that was held at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, Hohenfels, Germany, 9 - 22 November 2013.

    The Czech Republic expanded its participation in the Multinational Force and Observers mission in the Sinai by deploying CASA C-295M transport aircraft with 13 flying and ground personnel as of 4 November 2013.

    A week-long allied Steadfast Jazz 2013 exercise put in motion around six thousand soldiers in Poland, from NATO member countries and three PfP countries, in the largest NATO exercise since 2006.
