A Conference of Gripen User’s Group, held 22 - 26 October at Olomouc, Czech Republic, provided a new impetus to closer exchange of operational information in use of SAAB 39 Gripen (JAS-39) aircraft in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Sweden, South Africa and Thailand.

Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Netherlands Jaroslav Horak, Czech airmen headed by Air Force Commander General Jiri Verner, families of brave Czechoslovak aircrew of WW II, citizens of Petten and Zijpe, and Czech and Dutch guests, attended unveiling of a memorial to remember war heroism for future generations.
Republic of Iraq buys 28 Czech L-159 ALCA aircraft

"I am glad I can announce that we have agreed upon delivery of 28 pieces of L-159 to Iraqi Air Force," Czech Defence Minister Alexandr Vondra said at the press conference held at the end of talks with his Iraqi counterpart.
Unveiling monument for Czech aircrew

On Wednesday October 17th, 2012, a monument will be unveiled for the Czech crew of Vickers Wellington KX-B T-2553 of 311 (Czechoslovak) Squadron of the Royal Air Force. This will be next to the Information Center 'Dijk te Kijk' in Petten, the Netherlands. Commander of Czech Air Force Brigadier General Jiri Verner will attend the ceremony.
